About this event

The Advocacy Team and the Embassy of Mexico in the United Kingdom are happy to invite you to a webinar to mark this year’s International Women’s Day. Our panel event, titled “Exploring Feminist Foreign Policy in Practice: Insights from Mexico and Beyond,” aims to honour the progress made toward gender equality through feminist foreign policy, and to reflect on the work that remains.

In 2020, Mexico became the first country in the Global South to adopt a feminist foreign policy. We’ll explore how feminist approaches to diplomacy can advance gender equality and intersectionality, and how governments, diplomats, and civil society can work together to put women and girls at the heart of global engagement. In this vein, we will spotlight Mexico’s approach to feminist foreign policy and lessons we can learn for diplomacy more broadly. Our panelists will include senior diplomats, scholars, and experts in the field.
