Building a parliamentay caucus on global deforestation

Given the evidence about the devastating impact of air pollution on climate and health, how do we make the case for increased political and financial commitments globally?

The Advocacy Team has collaborated with the Clean Air Fund since 2022 and through this experience we have developed a deep understanding of the barriers and opportunities to increase air quality funding and attention from donor countries, country treasuries and Multilateral Development Banks as well as the tools and networks to conduct relevant assessments. We have collaborated with the Clean Air Fund to produce a  range of knowledge products and supporting advocacy for clean air including:

Co-authoring the State of Global Air Quality Funding report with the Climate Policy Initiative in 2025, and supporting previous iterations of the report. The 2025 report is the first to integrate analysis from qualitative interviews with staff working in multilateral development banks and donor agencies.

Lead author for the ‘Tackling Black Carbon: How to Unlock Fast Climate and Clean Air Benefits’ report that presents the findings of a Political Economy Analysis (PEA) on black carbon emissions reduction. We partnered with the Centre for Science and Technology Policy (CSTEP), Berkeley Air Monitoring Group and Orbis Air, and engaged with 80+ policymakers, government officials and affected communities.
